One of the things I am always looking for and have always loved about photography, is texture! And with my husband being a web designer, he is always looking for great textures to use as backgrounds for the sites he is building... therefore I find him pictures I have shot with texture! Or as in this case I just find something that has texture on it and photograph it in a way that brings out the texture and definition, so you as the observer feel as if was real and you could feel the texture if you touched it!
